Car and Dinner.

So like I said earlier, I got a new car. I am so happy. I was looking for something bigger and something safer for us too. At the same time I wanted it to still be something sporty and also something that I wanted to spend my money on. All this also having to be in my price range too. I am so happy because I found it. 2001 Audi A6 Quattro. I found it through Craiglist at a small dealership called Franklin Auto Sales. Atticus and I went and drove it and I instantly fell in love. It was roomy, but not too big. It was nice looking, but still a good price. It has a sun roof, a subwoofer, and when I need to it can pick up and go because it has twin turbos in it. Atticus and I took it to a mechanic that my dad has been using for awhile and feels trustworthy and he said everything was in tip top shape with a minor thing here and there like a tire with low tread. Carfax checked out too. Talked the guy at the dealership out of the dealer dock fee, and talked him into a brand new windshield as the windshield on it had a large crack. Took all the information to the bank and we assumed they were not going to be lenient with the financing and were going to suggest something that I would be struggling to afford, but lucky they worked things out and okay-ed what I asked for. Since Atticus and I have been driving around the past few day I have realized how grateful I am. It is roomy where I can have it full of stuff, lean my seat back, and Atticus still has leg room. He is no longer sitting against the door. It is all wheel drive which will be great for snow and other poor driving conditions, and plenty of other safety features. It is quiet and smooth, and so relaxing to drive and such a big change from the Geo Prizm. I could continue to go on. The only thing the mechanic warned me about was that it is a foreign car with lots of bells and whistles, which are all more things that may need working on, and since it is foreign these things are more expensive to fix and work on. At the same time, it is a well built car and if well maintained nothing should go wrong with it. I like it a lot and hope all goes well with it.

Yesterday Atticus and I pulled my old car, the Geo Prizm, into the backyard to wash it, vacuum it, and scrub the insides, then take pictures of it so we could sell it on Craigslist. I had fun taking pictures of it and running them through Photoshop to give them that extra pop! You can see our ad here.

Today Atticus and I had a play date/dinner date with Caitlin and her boys. It was my turn to make dinner and hers to make dessert as the last few times it had been reversed and I had dropped the ball on dessert, i.e. don't get water in chocolate, or almond milk doesn't thicken pudding. I decided to cook what Atticus and I usually eat, stir-fry. I prepped everything at home this morning and took it there to cook it. I think it turned out really well, it was a bit spicy, but it was good, and was enjoyed. She cooked strawberry short cake from scratch, and oh my goodness it was delicious. Atticus had fun, and was a good boy till he decided to so puddle jumping. He has fun and constantly looking forward to spending time with the kids. We are excited to take them to Birds of Prey.
